Paris in the Morning...

A quick half day trip to Paris this morning.  Arriving at just gone 7 o'clock, it is a wonderful time to visit Paris as you can walk everywhere so quickly.  After a coffee with a warm croissant at Café Marly, time for some shopping... once the stores opened!

Madame Eiffel waking up!
The 'Pyramide at the Louvre'
 Ile de la Cité
 Christmas windows!
More Christmas windows...
Place Vendôme.
 Café Marly in the Louvre.
... I had a really enjoyable day!

Thank you all and welcome to my new 'followers', so very happy you are here!

    1. Hello Kay,
I am sure one day you will get there - it has to be done! We lived in Paris a long time and I was always up with the dogs early just to see Paris wake up - dogs not always as enthusiastic as I was though!!
      Have a good weekend.

    1. Hello Jill,
Thank you for joining, Paris is only an hour and fifteen minutes away by train but I don't go as often as I should! The windows were fun, all the red Dolls moved around dancing to Christmas music. There must have be ten or more like it! The funny thing was watching a few little children up early with their grandparents, discover each window with such amazement!!

  5. A beautiful day! It's been over a year since I was in Paris. I used to go to Paris more often when I lived in San Francisco than I do now that I live here!

    1. Hello Walt,
Isn't it always the way! We had a small apartment up until a few years ago but we went less and less. I really enjoyed walking around as I knew I only had a short time. I will make the effort to go back for the odd morning and see more of the museums!!

  6. Many memories in Paris! In 1991 I worked as aupair, and at first I was afraid to leave the house, take the subway, talking to people, but after a month everything was easier. Thanks for sharing. Have a good weekend.

    1. Thank you Janet,
I was lucky and it was really enjoyable. Happy to share what I saw - the windows where fun, I should have filmed them as the music and the puppets moving about was quite clever!

  8. Waking up to a morning stroll in Paris, what could be better? I especially, liked the Place Vendôme and Ile de la Cité photos. They made me feel like I was along for the walk. Thank you for this little piece of Paris in the morning.

    1. Hello Harriet,
Very happy you enjoyed the walk! It was really enjoyable for me and felt quite 'Christmassy' already. It was my soul-food! (I found the wool for the pug too!)

    2. I'll be waiting to see the finished product. Very busy for the next few weeks getting ready to visit my daughter in Illinois next week for the Holidays. I might even have a white Christmas, hope so. Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday and a Blessed New Year, in case I don't have a chance to get back to the blog before Christmas.

    1. Hello Jim,
A long walk was just what I needed and no metro either! Café Marly is always fun but it is always so busy with queues in the summer - I never seen it empty, it had just opened though!

    1. Hello Ron,
It is romantic... but best before it gets busy! Our favourite was always walking our dogs along the seine on a Sunday morning as the dawn was breaking... so many memories!

Thanks, it's rare to be so quite but it was really cold!! Do you get to go 'Porte de Clignancourt' in Paris, shopping for your antique shop? There is so much to see!
