Drying flowers..

I have flowers drying everywhere at the moment.  I like displaying them around the house once they have dried, they cheer-up unused fire places and empty vases.  I use hair-spray to fix them;  they get changed every year as they fade and are hard to dust !  The wood stove went on this morning to help them along!  It is amazing to think they were all white in the summer!

    1. Hello,
Thank you, the cupboard has been with me a while and I have changed the colours four times - so it always fits in my colour schemes!! I put the chicken wire in too. I am looking for another one for linens as my current one is too full! Study hard and have a good week.

    1. Hello Harriet,
How are you? I do dry herbs but in an electric dehydrator (not pretty!) I freeze parsley for some reason, as I prefer it like that if I don't have any growing. Hope you like the gnocchi.

  3. They are lovely (and so is your wood stove!) I planted a hot pink hydrangea bush this summer. I hope to pick some this time next year to dry and display. Fixing them with hair spray is such a good idea.

    1. Hello Gillian,
Thank you, I could cut the same amount again this year, but it would be too much! The stove is Spanish (ordered in basic Spanish - but it got here!)and is fantastic (fraction of the cost of an Aga too!) It is attached to our normal heating system so can chase out the cold in the whole house as well as making the kitchen very toasty!! Have a good week - with some you time in it!!

  4. Thanks for the hairspray idea...We grow these hydrangeas as well and they slowly turn brown over the months. That's OK...it brings hope for future every February! Hugs to Aston
