The Christmas Tree...

  1. I love your Christmas tree! The red ornaments almost look as if they could be crocheted, I am not sure.
Also, I must tell you that I think I am a better cook just from reading your blog! Jim from Ocean Breezes said the same thing and I was already going to tell you that, but obviously, you must be an inspiration to many people.

Thank you, I hope you get some 'festive' cheeses, like we do - that's what is really important! Wishing you and your hubby, doggies and cat a wonderful Christmas too!

    1. Hello,
Thank you for saying so, I need 'red' things at Christmas!! As for the Pug things just open an 'armoire', pull out a draw and there is a fair bit of pug-morabilia all around... (!) Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

    1. Hello Loi,
Thank you, very kind of you to say. No - your house is FABULOUS! I just do my best, it helps to have the panelling and crown moldings!! The mirror was rescued from an office in Paris, they were to trash it!! I re-gilded it as it was thick with white paint!!
Merry Christmas to you and Tom, hoping you have a wonderful time!

    1. Hello Harriet,
Thank you, no - they were bought a few years back, just simple felt ones that caught my eye after breaking so many glass ones over the years. I will look for new things for next year!! Those old chairs.... the shop in Deauville has closed since :(

  7. It has been beautiful!! I also like the idea of using cypress branches. I put the branches over the mirror in the hall and the effect is wonderful. Have a good week.

    1. Hello,
Thank you. Yes - the branches are like the wreaths, just things we have to trim back so they would have been thrown away if not. It's simple but smells really nice. Have a good week too!

  13. It's too perfect for words! Did you trim it? When we buy a real tree it never looks that symmetrical or pretty. I hope you are enjoying the build up to Christmas, Ivan - Joyeux Noel! x

Yes, thanks - I am very festive and enjoying the before bit (love the planning!!). Hope you are also enjoying the pre Christmas festivities. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
