I love your Christmas tree! The red ornaments almost look as if they could be crocheted, I am not sure. Also, I must tell you that I think I am a better cook just from reading your blog! Jim from Ocean Breezes said the same thing and I was already going to tell you that, but obviously, you must be an inspiration to many people.
Hello Kay, Thank you so much, the ornaments are just made from simple felt, angels, hearts, trees... Also thank you for saying I am inspiration to people, I am so happy to share and give back were I can. Have a happy week. Ivan
Hello Jennifer, Thank you, I hope you get some 'festive' cheeses, like we do - that's what is really important! Wishing you and your hubby, doggies and cat a wonderful Christmas too! Best wishes Ivan
Thank you Jim, Yes, but small matter of making too much food (lol) Why do we think there will be never enough and really there is enough for the village!! Wishing you three a happy week... Ivan
Perfect Ivan...simply stated....your tree is so pretty. Love the mirror over the mantle. Cute pug near the fireplace. merry Christmas my friend across the ocean!
Hello, Thank you for saying so, I need 'red' things at Christmas!! As for the Pug things just open an 'armoire', pull out a draw and there is a fair bit of pug-morabilia all around... (!) Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Ivan
Dear Ivan, A beautiful and traditional tree---I love it! Your home is fabulous....such handsome boiserie. And the Louis Philippe mirror is perfect over the mantel. Merry Christmas! Warm greetings, Loi
Hello Loi, Thank you, very kind of you to say. No - your house is FABULOUS! I just do my best, it helps to have the panelling and crown moldings!! The mirror was rescued from an office in Paris, they were to trash it!! I re-gilded it as it was thick with white paint!! Merry Christmas to you and Tom, hoping you have a wonderful time! Ivan
Hello Harriet, Thank you, no - they were bought a few years back, just simple felt ones that caught my eye after breaking so many glass ones over the years. I will look for new things for next year!! Those old chairs.... the shop in Deauville has closed since :( Ivan
It has been beautiful!! I also like the idea of using cypress branches. I put the branches over the mirror in the hall and the effect is wonderful. Have a good week.
Hello, Thank you. Yes - the branches are like the wreaths, just things we have to trim back so they would have been thrown away if not. It's simple but smells really nice. Have a good week too! Best wishes Ivan
Hello Jill, Thank you, I really like reds in things for Christmas - traditional and classic but that's me!! Have a good week too - hope you are doing lots of fun things with your son now he's on holiday. Best wishes Ivan
Dear Ivan, And here am I bringing up the rear to say how lovely your Christmas Tree is. I like the look of it with its red ornaments and the gold star on top. I also like the way you have decorated your mantel - simple but very stylish! Kirk
Hello Kirk, Thank you very much, quite classic tastes we have here! The house smells really nice from the tree and branches which is a bonus! Happy your internet is fixed! Best wishes Ivan
It's too perfect for words! Did you trim it? When we buy a real tree it never looks that symmetrical or pretty. I hope you are enjoying the build up to Christmas, Ivan - Joyeux Noel! x
Hello Gillian, Thank you so much - no, it was the second place we visited. It was exactly the size, shape and half the price of the first place... (just luck and up early!). Yes, thanks - I am very festive and enjoying the before bit (love the planning!!). Hope you are also enjoying the pre Christmas festivities. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Best wishes Ivan :)
I love your tree! It's real - which I wouldn't dare attempt here in bone dry Colorado! And the dining table in your header is lovely too. Lucky guests! I'm wishing you a merry, merry Christmas! You'll definitely be well fed!
Hello, Thank you, it's smells like Christmas for me having a real tree, not always easy for everyone. Wishing you and your husband a Merry Christmas also. Very best wishes Ivan
