A room with a view... (and update)

This is my bedroom window view, which expands every winter when the leaves fall.  It is a really beautiful day today...

For my health update, just click below - but don't think you have to, I will be better soon!

To keep this very brief, 9 years ago I was rushed to hospital, as I had a really low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) I had 100+ medical tests but nothing wrong with me.  Genetically, I had a few low counts in one section of my immune system.  After a few weeks in hospital, testing and drug combos, I got well enough to come home.  It took a many months to get back to normal.
Fast-forward, 5 more years same thing, new protocol with a few (too many!) biopsy's and a course of chemotherapy.  That went on for 4 months.
Been fine since; then, had a flu jab that may have just been a bit too much with a few other things to send me spinning.  Friday breakfast (after a bad nose bleed) on the phone to my doctor - blood test half hour later and results within a few hours and drugs (from the first time!) right after. Four days later, I am out of danger a halfway back to normal -  lookin' good...

I will be fine because I have decided to be and the thing is...we are not much!  Hold the things we want close, tighter and push away all that is not good for our soul.  I will smile, because I can.

No sympathy but some positive energy sent my way, will be gladly received!!

Thank you for reading... x

  1. Glad you are feeling better. And that they sorted you out quickly this time. My ex-boss had an auto-immune disease and was told never to have a flu shot....this after I made him get one (hospital protocol, he was a surgeon and wasn't allowed in hospital if there was an outbreak without one). He had a very bad reaction and seizures. That was when he was told by neurology never to have one again.

    Take care of yourself.

  3. It all sounds very scary, but I am happy to hear that you are on the mend and that the doctors have sorted you out. I hope you feel back to your old self soon.

ps the view is rather nice! I would be inclined to stay there maybe a few days longer than is strictly necessary, with a bell, and have someone bring me tea and chicken soup...and maybe a new magazine!

  4. Dear Ivan,

Thank you for sharing. It helps direct the flow of positive thoughts and caring energies. My autoimmune gremlins are Celiac, RA, and the rheumy is convinced that Lupus is next on the list. One just keeps on going, maintains a sense of humor and is always there for good friends. Continue to heal! xLinda
